tmb-aperture: So I would just like to take a moment to discuss the awesomeness that is A Shattered Hope— A local hardcore band based out of San Diego. I’ve been a huge fan since day one. I believe they were opening for Scary Kids Scaring Kids (their last show ever!) 2 years ago when I first saw them. They had great music and a great stage presence so I bought their CD upon leaving and put it on when I got in the car. The band consists of: Tyler - Vocals, Marc- Guitar, Nic- Bass, and Nate- Vocals/drums. I would just like to add that singing while playing drums isn’t easy and I think it’s fucking awesome.  It’s pretty rare that I miss any of their local shows, and I’m going to explain why. I went to one of them last night and, despite a few technical difficulties, it was amazing. From the music, to Tyler and Nic fighting it out on stage with the pushing and kicking haha. Tyler isn’t afraid to call you out, either. There were people in the back, not facing the stage and talking to each other so he yelled to them “HEY! YOU! TURN THE FUCK AROUND AND STOP TALKING! YOU’RE AT A FUCKING ROCK SHOW, YOU DON’T COME HERE TO TALK…” etc. It was seriously one of the coolest things ever. Now, here’s what I don’t understand. Tyler said “I want everyone to repeat after me: FUCK FUCK FUCK!” some people yelled it, so he tried again, louder. “FUCK FUCK FUCK!” then less yelled it, and less the third time. Who the FUCK doesn’t want to yell FUCK at the top of their lungs? A Shattered Hope has over 14,000 likes on their facebook so why the hell aren’t there at least 50 people for them at their shows? Seriously, they should be done being the band that opens for other bands. They need longer sets and to be headlining their own shows. They’re definitely good enough.
